With a thaw forecast for the weekend, and a day off after working last night, the dogs had a two hour walk this morning as we made the most of the snow. The white covered footpath around the Hill ran between snow covered hedges and beneath snow covered trees - a real winter wonderland. We headed up and around the quarry with views across the snow covered countryside. The sky was grey, with snow flurries, but there was still plenty of photo opportunities. Our youngest dog Tia found this one as we headed back alongside the river – she ran to the bank barking to be confronted by a hissing swan’s head and neck rearing up from behind the snowy grasses at the water’s edge, one of a pair that normally live on the pond, now frozen, on the other side of the footpath, but who have retreated to the river to avoid the ice.
