Last snow? by shepherdman

Last snow?

We had more snow yesterday, Maybe be the last, but it didn’t amount to much. By the time I was home from work most had already disappeared, although Croft Hill maintained its white mantle, frozen in the cold wind. Despite the half term holiday there had been no sledging, maybe because the snow was little more than an icy crust. It was too dark for photography last night, and so I returned this morning, pottering around at home, despite the impatience of the dogs, until I felt that there was sufficient light. It was an overcast morning and I should have waited another few minutes, but work was summonsing me, and consequently the resulting images were a bit grey gloomy. It was a bit surreal as I climbed the Hill, surrounded by white, with snow laden trees and bushes, but with a green countryside below me in all directions.
I love those trees with their whitened trunks, ours were exactly the same, the snow seems to have been fine and very sticky again and the wind has blown it very precisely against the trunks in a narrow strip. Super shot.
