Thunder rumbled around as we sat in the garden, and clouds bubbled up bringing a gusty breeze that was most refreshing on the hottest day of the year so far. The sunlit horizon had a backdrop of dark grey, and we hoped that the daily task of watering the garden would be done for us, and maybe there would be enough water in the rain water butt to top up the wildlife pond. But it was all a big tease, an empty promise, as the grey skies headed east, and the dramatic cumulonimbus clouds gave way to big fluffy cumulus. At least this meteorological performance ended with a cool reception, allowing gardening to continue in comfort.
great picture - very atmospheric. I was hoping I would see the forecast thunderstorm but nothing happenend here in West Sussex. It's another scorcher today.
