Contrasting winter colours of the shrubs that surround the quarry edge a few minutes from home. The yellow background is lichen, but I’m not sure what the red stems are, possibly dog wood, which I know is common in southern England, although I’m not sure about up here in the Midlands. The stems are certainly is the same colour as those on the cultivated variety in my garden.
