This wet and soggy winter has encouraged a variety of fungi, which in this case adds a welcome splash of colour to a soaked log on a bed of wet leaves. A rummage among this lot would almost certainly reveal a wide variety of miniscule bugs and beasties sheltering from the winter weather.
