Woodpigeon by shepherdman

Woodpigeon

One of the few birds that even I can identify from a silhouette – the humble woodpigeon. Quite handsome birds on their own way, with its iridescent hint-of-purple breast and black and white bars on its neck. Oddly, whereas we sleep through the dawn chorus of most birds (except the full-throated spring version), the repetitive cooing of the pigeon disrupts the deepest slumber, often resulting in the muttered grumblings from @shepherdmanswife, as she leaps out of bed to shut the window. I just turn over drift off again…
Fabulous lighting, cool silhouettes

Yes I love hearing the birds, cooing or otherwise, I can sleep on the edge of a knife so doesn't bother me. This is a super image, such a familiar profile, easy to spot
