A few weeks ago we were invited to a friend’s farm to photograph lambs, but there was a lot of interesting things to photograph in the farmyard. I say farmyard – in fact it was a large are of outbuildings, paddocks, and an orchard. Our friend’s father still runs the farm, and is one of those people who acquire and keep things because they might be useful one day. In this case there was space to accumulate a lot of stuff. This old petrol pump probably graced a garage forecourt 50 years ago, and apparently still works, dispensing diesel from a large drum into tractors.
