Before the clocks went back last weekend my morning dog walk was generally in pre-dawn greyness, and even then there was considerable curtain twitching beforehand as I peered out hopefully, looking for the first light in the sky. But this week we are benefitting from the extra hour of daylight. If I am in the unusual position of being awake and organised, and we leave home a little earlier than usual, we set off across the fields as the sun begins to rise above the trees in the east. We’ve had some glorious mornings, with such warm weather that it felt like more late summer than autumn, with a gentle balmy breeze stirring the air as the sun rises. Our favoured route is down to the “cows’ field”, where, provided that the cows keep to their morning routine by staying at the far end of the pasture, the dogs can run around, following scents that are always stronger at dawn, as they retrace the trails of rabbits and foxes that have been the nocturnal occupiers of the field, just an hour or so before.
Great capture Fav. I'm out with dogs early every morning hoping for a beautiful sunrise. However nothing other than grey dull mornings in Gloucestershire since the clocks changed. Ever the optimist I shall persevere!
Amazing capture and colours. FAV. It's seems I'm in an imaginative mood because I was imagining myself waking up early and walking the fields and enjoying this wonderful sunrise.
