We had a hard frost on Monday morning, and with a clear sky the first light of dawn was earlier than on recent days. We strolled down the field track, walking across the frozen mud, meeting one of our neighbours who had been out and about even earlier than usual, and was now returning home with Jack, his flat coat retriever. As Tia and Jack played around us, and Lesia lay at me feet, we stopped for a chat, commenting on the glorious shades of the approaching dawn. I knew that he had been given a camera for Christmas, and I also knew that when he showed me his camera just a couple of days after Christmas (on another dog walk, obviously) that I’d advised him to always carry his camera, and to take at least one photo daily. I asked if he’d taken any photos of the dawn sky. He admitted that his camera was at home. You can lead a horse to water…..
