I reckon that if any of @shepherdmanswife ‘s followers pop over to her project, they may well find snowdrops too – if not today then maybe over the next day or so, because yesterday she requested that we go on a snowdrop hunt. We have quite a few snowdrops dotted around here and there in the garden, but apparently these aren’t enough. The specification was for a whole woodland carpet of snowdrops, difficult to deliver from a domestic garden. @shepherdmanswife had heard of a particularly spectacular glade of snowdrops in the northwest of the County, and With a bit of web browsing she found directions. These proved to be a little imprecise, and so thanks partly to this, and partly to a late start on a cloudy day, dusk was threatening when we arrived at the glade, a mile or so from the nearby car park. We met a lot of folk returning to their cars, and so at least had the place to ourselves as we made the best of the failing light.
Boy, having seen these on so many projects I will have to look to see if they grow around here, when and if spring comes. Right now I am dealing with snow banks.
