This mornings dog walk (despite my camera apparently saying it was yesterday - must check that!). We walked down the field track, descending into mist as we crossed the bridge leading into the "Cows Field". We continued to the far end of the field, in my case peering through the mist for any appearance of silhouettes of shadowy cows but presumably they were behind us at the other end of the field. We turned back towards home just as the sun was rising, turning the mist silvery-gold. I strolled rapidly to where I knew that the sun would be appearing between trees and bushes, and then to other places where I would get a clear view of the sunrise. Until you try to photograph a rising, or indeed setting, sun, you don’t realise quite how quickly the orb crosses the horizon at either end of the day. Photo-opportunities are very transient. The air warmed significantly as we walked back up the field track to the Lane, looking back at the lake of low mist behind us. As morning exercise goes it certainly beats a gym membership.
Love the mist - and you're so right about that kind of exercise being world's apart from the gym - no way does the soul and spirit also get refreshed at the gym.
