@shepherdmanswife found a local photo competition inviting shots of Leicester’s Greyfriars area, part of what was medieval Leicester, now, thanks to its proximity to the Magistrates Court, mostly occupied by solicitors and barrister’s chambers. By the time I had a chance to get way from the office for half an hour I had missed the low golden early morning sunshine, and most of the streets were in shadow, but I found this shot of a narrow lane running alongside St Martins Cathedral. When I showed my attempt to @shepherdmanswife, she showed me the map of the Greyfriars area. Not only was this Lane just outside of the area, but also my lens was pointing directly away from Greyfriars. And the competition deadline is tomorrow. Oh well, win some, lose some.
I have to disagree with @shepherdmanswife and say you were clearly pointing the right way to get such an attractive shot. Enter it into the competition anyway - the organisers can't be that smart, everybody knows that Greyfriars is in Edinburgh.
Great textures and colours
