As Squamish River, British Columbia, slows down before spilling into Howe Sound, it no longer has the energy to carry sand particles, and so deposits the sand into the river bed, and tides and floods spread sand to the river edges creating a curious hybrid of young woodland and beach, with a layered backdrop of the Coastal Mountains. We went for a few walks along these beaches, because the locals assured us that we would be sure to see Sea Eagles. During two trips to Squamish we have yet to see a single Sea Eagle.
Great layers here. I might have cloned out that little twig in the upper left, but wouldn't change a thing in the main scene. Fascinating to see the mountains, brush, and sand, such distinct layers.
Blue hills are always a winner, and interesting backstory.
