Part way along the roadside track that navigates around the bottom of Croft Hill, connecting the villages of Huncote and Croft, an isolated section of fence partially obstructs the path. At one end is a hedge and at the other a simple gap through which the pathway takes a bit of a wiggle to pass the fence. Presumably this gap was bridged by a gate at one time, perhaps an indication of grazing fields that flanked the hillside, dropping down uninterrupted to the road. Now mature trees obscure the hillside from the path. Our more well established neighbours do recall being able to see open views of the hill summit from our Lane. Now we just see the trees,
