Paraglider

There were a few of these around Mam Tor during our Derbyshire trip last month. Some were launching themselves from the Tor, some swooping around in the updraughts from the slopes, and some landing on the fields below. I can't decide whether I fancy this or not. I expect that if I actually tried it I would find it exhilarating, and would want to repeat the experience, maybe becoming hooked.

I expect anyone actually trying this would become hooked - then you save up for the equipment and insure yourself thoroughly!

Not me. I'm not a heights enthusiast. They do a lot of this off the cliffs in the San Diego area. We've watched them. My husband would like to take a hot air balloon ride. I think it would be awesome the for photographs I could get, but.......

Like you, whenever I see this activity at close quarters, I itch to have a try. I do hold a glider pilots licence but this would be a much rawer experience I think.

Must be some awesome views up there. Watched a program with Guy Martin (the motorcycle racer). He had a go at this with an instructed and promptly fell asleep as he found it boring!
