Just a couple of frosts, and the autumn colours have dropped from the trees to the ground. This is one of four gates leading onto Croft Hill. All four had adjacent stiles with dog gates, but two now have kissing gates, making access easier for those less able to climb over the stiles. Of course, for views across the south Leicestershire countryside from the top of the Hill there is still some climbing to do.
@365projectorgjenfurj The gate touches one post, and if you push the gate it swings away to touch (or “kiss”) another post, but there is room for you (but not livestock) to walk between the end of the opening gate and a semi-circular fence. The gate can’t be left open, unlike a traditional gate. I had to think about that!
@shepherdman haha, thankyou. I thought it might of been a gate where couples had to kiss before passing through. That would keep the romance alive in relationships. 😊
