Prickly Harvest by shepherdman

Prickly Harvest

@shepherdmanswife picking blackberries, deep among the thorns of brambles. She picks the berries that she can reach, and I am tasked with the highest ones that I can reach. There are still plenty for the birds at the top of the bushes. We leave those closest to the ground. This is, after all, a dog walking route, and we know what our dogs use bushes for.....
love it!

Nice capture of her picking the berries. I hope that the chiggers didn't get you. When we've picked wild blackberries, we wear socks over the cuff of our pants, long sleeves, and a belt around the waist to keep the chiggers from getting us.

Lovely scene. I hope you have a good harvest and fruit enough for now and for preserves.

A lovely shot, brings back so many memories, we had 5 acres and mam used to hand us a bowl and tell us to pick enough for a pie. Our hedges were full of them, rich pickings!!
