Today marked a small milestone in my legal career. We filed a reply brief which I actually helped write (as opposed to one I just proofread or researched). I don't know why they call it a "brief" when the process is sometimes so long and arduous (see: all the work-related updates over the last week), but it's been quite an interesting experience either way. I've generally been weaning myself off caffeine, but today, as the filing deadline loomed near, I treated myself to some coffee.
