Celebrated our nation's birthday on my couch while it thunderstormed outside here in Atlanta. Last year, I watched the fireworks over the Hudson live from the balcony of a friend's apartment in Hell's Kitchen. Watching the same fireworks this year on TV -- and realizing a year has gone by since I left the city -- made me yearn for NYC.
