Very special vase

I have no idea what brought it up but I had mentioned to my grandmother that I thought vases were often too ornate and detracted from the flowers they were meant to hold. The thing is, she gave me this vase the following Christmas, 6 months after she passed. My grandfather and my uncle found it in her things labeled “for Debbie”.
