The nursery identifies this as a geranium, but it just doesn’t look like any I am familiar with. However, I think it is a beautiful flower and reminds me somewhat of the Guerra.
I know nothing about cultured flowers- although the leaves do look like a Geranium's leaves to me. Sounds like Suzanne is a gardener and knows what she's talking about! Beautiful color and design.
@beryl All the blossoms were the same. There weren’t any missing petals. I am going to look up pelargonium to see Suzanne suggestion. Like Ann, I think the leaves look right for geranium.
@shutterbug49 We learn so much from this sight .. I always thought of pelargonium as a type of geranium. But I have never seen this form before . Never too old to learn! ...thanks for sharing .
Beautiful flower. Very interesting conversation. I looked online as well, and it looks like pelargonium graveolens. They are from South Africa. The article stated that they looked like your photo and over time the nurseries have hybridized them so all 5 petals are the same size. The flower does look similar to gaura also.
