another fu manchu

Can you see it? lol
Now that I've posted this, I think I have covered all the interesting buildings in my immediate area. I love shooting buildings. This might be the last one around here that has any character!!
One of the many things this project has done for me, is made be realise that everything here is relatively new compared to the UK. I was always well aware of this but I've never been so jealous till now. As some of you may know by now, I'm a history nerd. I'm a huge lover of historical buildings, character and stories of olde. If ever let loose in London, Manchester or any little village in the UK, I'd be in photo (and history nerd) heaven :)

Sigh. This was built in 1868, (for the grand total of $15,000) still a baby really.
Er hem i think you must mean Leeds not Manchester :) this is a great building too though

You're in Leeds right? My Mum is from Manchester and @chewyteeth has been taking me through her old stomping grounds. Not exactly pretty, but still awesome!

Yes although I was born nearer to Manchester actually. But I prefer Leeds. Although obviously I like the smiths!

Fabulous!! Fantastic building and love your POV.

Yes I think we do take our historic buildings for granted sometimes but you have other compensations in the US that's why travel is so interesting Jenn!!! A great angle you have taken this shot showing the height of this church, I love the way the windows show so well !

it's a great shot - and you can always look at different angles and lighting for alternative perspectives! some of our more dramatic buildings are that sort of age

Beautiful old building! I wonder what the oldest building in Vancouver is? Must find out and go shoot it.

awesome perspective and gorgeous building!!! and oh yes i know what you mean about being jealous of all the amazing old buildings in other areas of the world!
November 12th, 2011
Great shot, love the perspective.
November 12th, 2011
Awesome! The blue windows really bring the drama!

Great shot! We currently live in the historic area of our town. I wouldn't have it any other way and adore being surrounded by century homes. We're currently looking to move and we're having a tough time trying to find a home with radiators! :)

@shutterbugger
I like Leeds it's got great Art galleries and friendly people. But I think Manchester eclipsis it because it has size and more facilities. The Economist recently judged Manchester the best city to live in in the UK, over London and Birmingham, because whilst it has the facilities it is also safer. History wise Manchester would defo be a better day out with a camera, although Leeds has better surrounding countryside.
