Hmmm....these are definitely not ladybird larvae. My guess is these are blackfly which the ladybirds prey on. That's one of the reasons why ladybirds are the gardener's friend. Mmm on the other hand the black insects have the look of tiny tiny grasshoppers...very interesting picture Diana.
Cheryl, above, I think has the correct answer! I buy little tubs of ladybugs at the nursery in the hope they stay in my yard and eat the aphids. You really got a great capture!
