Ladybirds and ?

Are these ladybirds with their larvae, does anybody out there know?
what?!

This is crazy! Are those little black bugs? This is unreal.

Very cool capture.

Hmmm....these are definitely not ladybird larvae. My guess is these are blackfly which the ladybirds prey on. That's one of the reasons why ladybirds are the gardener's friend. Mmm on the other hand the black insects have the look of tiny tiny grasshoppers...very interesting picture Diana.

That's what I was thinking... maybe aphids that the ladybugs are feeding on?? Whatever is going on, it's a pretty cool capture. :)

I think the lady bugs have them trapped and are taking their time in disposing of them.

The little black bugs are aphids....a high protein meal for ladybugs!! Great capture!

Cheryl, above, I think has the correct answer! I buy little tubs of ladybugs at the nursery in the hope they stay in my yard and eat the aphids. You really got a great capture!
