Jacobean Gatehouse .

I wanted to show you this picture which I took yesterday at Stokesay Castle of the timber-framed jacobean gatehouse in more detail.Alot of you asked how old the castlewas, it dates back to the 13th century !
Very quaint, looks like a doll house.

That's old. Lovely countryside too, with the flowers and hills in fore- and background.

OH MY -- this is sooooooooo pretty. I just adore the color of the house and its trim and the shapes of the trim. I also love the flower gardens along the pathway. The colors and different heights of the flowers are wonderful. I wish I had been there with you when you took this picture -- looking at your wonderful photo is the next best thing.

This is England Diana! It's a wonderful contrast to my pictures I've been processing today. I love your colouring and the way your eye is drawn through the flowerbed to the house.

The house is a lovely colour and has been kept/preserved beautifully. The flowers and the grass are so lush and a contrast to Bedfordshire where we dont really get enough rain to get the grass so green. You have captured the charm so beautifully :)

it's beautiful - I love yellows and purples in the border. Yes, those are the same yellow wavy candles! I've used them a few times but threw them away after this one because they had so much chocolate icing all over them!
