Mousehole lights by snowy

Mousehole lights

As well as the familiar Christmas themes, the lights depict the old legend of the Mousehole cat, called Mowzer who reputedly save the village from starvation by singing lullabies to calm the storms and enable his owner Tom Bawcock to catch enough fish for the whole village. The local dish -Stargazy- pie-supposedly originated from the seven varieties of fish that Tom caught.
I've heard of stargazey pie but not the legend of the mousehole cat. Fascinating; and love this pic of the lights.

Love this shot. I was in Penzance some years ago and went down to Mousehole. I don't think I would like the pie with all those fish eyes gazing up at me!
