Today we set off for a walk from Eye ,whilst we were there we had a look round the church, and saw these effigies of Sir Richard Cornewall,1479-1533,and his wife Jane. There are records of the high favour in which Sir Richard was held at the court of Henry v111.For instance he was one of the one hundred nobles and gentlemen appointed to attend the King at the "Field of the Cloth of Gold "
I recall visiting them many years ago but I had not noticed the botched job done by his manicurist. The great thing about a photo like this is if you mess up on the lighting the subject is there the next day to try again, aye?
Interesting. Good shot of the alabaster alter-tomb of Sir Richard and Jane. Appreciate the history. Love these old tombs and above ground elaborate carvings.
