Honesty. by snowy

Honesty.

This wild flower called Honesty is also known as money plant, silver plate and two pennies-in-a purse,The flat oval seed pods dry and turn a silvery finish with the seeds still within, they are nice for using in flower arrangements.
I have always been fascinated with this flower since I was little. My aunt had some in her home and they were silvery and delicate.

Wonderful color. I have always known it as the money plant and only saw it dried, but it is quite colorful living in the wild. I think I prefer the name Honesty for it. Love this photo.

Oh this takes me right back yo my childhood when we used to & stay with an old auntie in Renwick, Northumberland & she had these in her garden. They are a biennial I think ! Lovely focus & colouring before they turn silver !

Pretty, we have similar plants that are very thin and called silver dollars but are kind of golden.

For me a very unusual plant as I have never seen one like it. can very well imagine it in a flower arrangement.

Love this Diana. I like to peel off the outside when they are ready, scatter the seeds and use the silvery twigs indoors. Nice sprayed at Christmas too. Tonight on BBC2 9 o clock a program about Ludlow......did you know.? Presented by Nick Crane from Coast, there's a small article in Radio Times.
