Clun .....one of the"quietest places under the sun" A E Houssman

Today we went to Clun and looked round the ruins of the castle,this is the view from one of the windows.Originally a motte and bailey, the Castle was rebuilt in stone around 1400. Besieged twice , its surviving tower had walls11 feet thick.
