They don't make them like this any more.....

We saw this huge old plough standing in a nearby ex-farmyard. Probably around a 100 years old and needing two steam traction engines to operate these were the forerunner of modern reversible ploughs. Surprising to see one in S.Shropshire as they obviously needed big arable fields.
I guess the owner just likes old machinery - what man doesn't!

Such a time consuming machine but of course they didn't know any better then.....must have been the modern machine to have in it's hey day!

Great to see the plough. I`ve a pic.book with photograph`s of the steam ploughing engines . But there is not a plough pic in it. Thanks for this great find capture and sharing. (in fact this are two ploughs)
