A foggy wet morning did not stop her from going out jogging. Her usual path got at a halt at a crosswalk on a very busy road. As she was jogging on the spot, waiting for the traffic to lessen and allow her to cross the road, she spotted a man on an electric scooter. He was looking ordinary, but there was something about him that caught her eye. He just passed carelessly on the road, without minding anyone or anything around him. When she retuned her gaze in front of her, she suddenly realized it was not the man with the scooter that was strange. It was something behind the hedge on the other side of the street. The window of the house across reflected a strange vision. She strained her eyes to make something of it. It looked like smoke and flames. And some huge shape moving within that. She was all alone now in the street, yet her feet could not move. She could not turn her head to look behind. She would not. She was petrified.
