Waiting for the Regatta

All these birds sitting on the ice-boom look like they are waiting for something to happen. There are always a few there, but today there were more than usual, almost all facing the same direction!

Looks like a load of swimmers standing on their starting blocks, waiting for the whistle to go so they can all dive in!
