Ice #5: Moira River and Ice Boom

This is a couple of winters ago. Haven't walked along by this part of the river this winter, not sure if it is frozen over or not.

Interesting to see the ice boom, what was protected against the ice Liz?

I see why they needed the notice. That ice boom seems like it might be a magnet for adventurous kids.

@jacqbb As I understand it, it is to stop a build up of frazil ice which used to be a problem lower down the river and in the harbour. @tinley23 Even I have looked at it wondering if it would hold me :) The birds all think it is there for them to perch upon.
