I've often thought of organising my books using the Dewey Decimal System, but have never gotten around to it. These are all ex-library. The Shakespeare ones could apparently be classified 822.33 (instead of 822.3) which is his own number, as opposed to simply Elizabethan literature. The book on the right is classified 920, which is for biography.
Love to see old books displayed. I used to work in a library when I first left school, so I know all about Dewey. I believe they have revised the numbers since then.
@bruni@busylady It is rather an odd system, but there is some logic to it. I used to work with it when I volunteered at our English library when I lived in Spain. I imagine some areas would need to be revised simply because of changing times, but I've lost track now.
