Interesting. I was about to tell you why I liked this photo. Then I read your comment. Funny, there are shots in our projects we like, and the community seems to ignore them. Then there are others we hate (as you said about this shot) which others enjoy.
I know I'm not the best at commenting on photos everyday (commenting just for the sake of commenting seems to "cheapen" them). But I really do enjoy your project. I love how you are always trying new things, and genuinely seem to be honest about your own work.
I think there's something too. probably the walls & pavement as Alexander mentions. And then you're wondering where is the photo taken (entrance of a parking or something like that ?) and what is the guy doing (quite still for a 4secs exposure) ?
@channelf It was raining so he was sheltering waiting for a bus I think. He was plugged into headphones in a world of his own. It is an driveway in the middle of some shops that leads to private housing.
It is rubbish. Best I could muster for the one night stand thing.
@stillcrappysailor Yes I find it interesting to see what people like and ignore.
I am pleased you like my project. I am just trying to learn new techniques or explore ideas. Time is the issue as I have none of it. Commenting should be purposeful and genuine I totally agree with you there.
Thank you for taking the time to look and comment.
I really like this shot Lord Tanner! Black and white works really well with it and it looks like a scene from a movie. I also like the different shades of bricks on the walls and floor.
I really like this shot too and still think you are often too hard on yourself! However I would also suggest cropping a bit off the sides and the top! I've tried taking shots of tunnels and never found anyone standing there!
i know you don't like this shot but look at the positives, the exposure is perfect and like others have said, the light shining off the walls and ground are amazing. Put it in your back pocket and try again another time.
Intriguing how that black frames that view and he (?) is walking towards the light, that´s always a good thing. I thought about this one night stand but decided it was not for me at this point, glad to see you participating!
@angelat I tried a whole load of crops and just had enough of it. To be honest I would like to try this shot again with perhaps more thought. Thank you as ever for your kind words.
@semjaja Thanks Sem. I am going to consider doing some more night shots in the holidays. It was not dark until 9pm today and it was overcast and horrible outside. More planning required.
