Raining by spanner

Raining

It rained today. This is my first attempt to shoot and process in RAW. I am not certain about the subtle differences achieved. I have decided to try and use more colour.

Love the way this is framed!! Nicely done. I wasn't sure about the difference between RAW & JPEG processing either, I didn't really notice any difference other than extra white balance options & I wasn't sure if I was doing something wrong..??

@semjaja thanks Sem.

@bec2702 I have to agree. I need to spend more time researching the differences between the two. Nothing massively obvious as yet. Thank you for taking the time to comment.

Lovely composition. I need to try RAW again. Last time the only difference I noticed was how much room the shots took up on my camera.

@rachelwithey Yes, I agree. I am not sure the tweaking is needed at my level.

Nice composition. RAW is really good for b&w, as it lets you through a ton of contrast into the image.

Love your choice of defined rain drops and slightly soft portrait image. I am now inspired to experiment with RAW.

Cool shot - great focus. I gave up Raw a long time ago - when I got fed up of spending all my time editing the shots. There are a few occasions where it still is useful : when the color balance is tricky or when the dynamic range is large and you need extra details in the shadows or the highlights.

I really like this, great composition and the photo tells a story...fav.

@rikshore @jancb @channelf Thank you for your comments. I have to admit I just do not think the type of picture and the level of photography justifies using RAW. The differenced in editing I have found so far are not enough to convince me, after all it is a hobby.
