My get pushed challenge set by @blueberry1222 is to do "Whole buildings, not just detail bits of them. I want to see you capture whole structures....in colour." This is something I have no real experience in doing do I thought I would go big. This is almost Sooc. I could not resist the re-edit this morning. I am pleased I have tried this but struggled with every aspect of it. That's the whole point I guess.
Great shot Span. I like the way you are looking up at the subject, makes it look "grand"... If i can make a small observation, the building isnt in the middle of the shot ( dont shoot me...)
@longexposure I was pleased with myself after taking the shot, got home and put it on the computer only to see it was not in the middle. Edited and processed and then thought I would just post it as it is because my brain ached. Thanks for your comments they are most welcome.
@blueberry1222 my head exploded while trying to do this. I trawled the streets taking some dreadful shots. When I eventually decided on this building I was panicking. I was going to reedit it this morning but I am going to move on. Thanks for the challenge it has really made me think. There might be more shots to come. I look forward to your image.
I think I prefer this one. I like that the building is slightly overexposed, the colours and that big cloud in the sky. Even the car is not intrusive enough to just give the scale. And almost all is gone in the bw version.
@channelf Thank you for your comments. I think this is massively overexposed. I am glad you can see the cloud - it does not show up on my monitor (here at work...I should be doing something more constructive).
@spanner Humm....I think that I liked the light posts and the larger sky..... either one is good. I posted mine in my 'challenges' folder. I also had a hard time with it! I am anticipating trying some other shots. I'm going camping on weds so there might be some fireside shots...
@spanner Nope. That's not me. I won't say bad things... rather just pass over it than hurt someone's feelings. But, if something touches me, I say so. My (much older) sister is an artist (oils). She taught me to experience art and trust my instincts on what I personally think is good or isn't. if I say I like something, you can believe in the veracity of the statement.
