The castle is a fortress of the province of Piacenza, located in the town of Gropparello.
The castle stands on top of a rocky outcrop, on a cliff overlooking the creek Vezzeno forming a ravine about 85 meters high, making the castle, in the past known as stronghold of Cagnano, virtually impenetrable over the centuries.
The guided tour of the castle lasted two hours and was very interesting. The guide explained everything about both the external and the internal of the castle. It is currently inhabited by the owners and some rooms were restricted.
There are also many activities for the kids.
