Mount Royal Cross by sprphotos

Mount Royal Cross

Erected in 1924, the cross atop Mount Royal commemorates January 6, 1643, when In 1643, Sieur de Maisonneuve, Montréal's founder, erected a wooden cross and kept his promise to carry it to the summit of Mount Royal if the young colony survived flooding. Today, this monument erected in 1924 stands 30 metres (98 feet) high and when lit, can be seen from miles away.
Low key treatment.
