I spent the day with my daughter today, and I arrived to find her baby brother being extremely gorgeous as ever, so couldn't resist taking a few photos.
I've spent the last two hours deciding whether to put this one up or the same shot but in colour and with some filmic tones applied. I do like the finish of the other one, but the monochrome wins out. Just. I think it's a slightly better finish for my 365.
And I quite like how un-posed this is. I took some nice shots of him in his rocker-chair with some big close-ups of his eyes, and some nice full face shots, but I like the wide-angle, relaxed feel of this. I also like the fact that his mum (my-ex) is just getting on with what she's doing - and how the lines of her arms and his arms create shapes in the frame (for me at least :).
I hope it's a very natural shot.
He's so scrummy. Each time I go to see my daughter I do tend to quickly go to him to say hello. He's being very vocal and smiley at the moment, and is generally a very happy baby so it's lovely to see him whenever I go to see my daughter. She's lucky to have him as her baby brother, and i'm lucky enough to know him too, even though he's not mine.
I just hope I can take some nice photographs of him over the years...!
