Not bad viewed large, on black if you have time :)
I took Alexis to see the Sensational Butterflies show at the Natural History Museum on Saturday. I loved it as I think they're great creatures but being only 4, I think Alexis was a little nervous of the butterflies.
They are everywhere in a marquee, and it's great to see some very large ones flying around so gracefully, but Alexis was a little timid of them. Understandable at only 4 years old. They are quite creepy in a way if you're only little. But I think she did find it quite interesting when one landed on her arm. None landed on me, so I tried to explain that she must be special for one to do that :)
It nearly worked...she was quite keen to hold on to me, and then keen to leave but it was a good visit. I would highly recommend it to anyone in London. It's cheap to get in and you can stay for hours taking all the photos you want. And with proper glass you could get some amazing shots. I had my X20 so couldn't quite get what I wanted and Alexis wasn't keen to pose or even stand still for too long so I managed a couple of shots like the one above.
That is a stunning butterfly, love the almost monochrome of it.....I had forgotten you lived in the UK when I saw this stunner thought you were posting from some exotic country!!!
A well worthwhile place to visit & I think we will be seeing other butterflies on 365!
Alexis was a brave girl........must have been almost like The Birds for a small girl! A day she will remember though!
