Day 168 - Savoy, Afternoon Tea by stevecameras

Day 168 - Savoy, Afternoon Tea

Looks better viewed large, on black if you have time :)

Monday saw the first of two days off (finally) and Stacey and I went to The Savoy hotel on central London for it's famous afternoon tea.

Cakes, pastries, sandwiches, a very nice afternoon blend of tea all helped to make it a very lovely experience. Before I had the chance to really try and capture some nice images (including one of an actual tea pot, cake or cup of tea) the battery on my Fuji X20 ran out. This is the best of the few I had taken. Looking from our table, across to the other side of the tea room to where one of the waiter's was serving another couple.

After putting the camera away (perhaps a blessing) we finished off the event with a glass of rose champagne each. Very lovely stuff.
Gorgeous framing! Looks like a lovely, elegant place to spend the afternoon :)

It would have been a super experience in this iconic building!

Love the framing, too. The picture really gives that afternoon tea feeling that you describe, well done.
