I had a great day at work today.
I was filming an Under 19's Champions League Match between Chelsea and AC Milan. The league has it's own importance but doesn't have any of the hoo-haa that the proper Champions League does. All of the stadiums are very small and there is generally no more than around 50 in the crowd.
My colleagues and I suffered an hours delay to the start of the technical rig, and then it started howling it down with rain. So it was a bit chaotic getting the cameras out, in really bad weather, in a ground that doesn't normally cater for TV facilities. But it was also great fun and I loved it. I enjoyed the camera I did, and the game was a good old fashioned kick about.
I managed to get this quickly, as we were de-rigging. The sunset was quite nice, with lots of lovely big clouds but for about 3 minutes the light was like this before it was gone. I love doing outside broadcasts for a living and being able to capture things like this. Awesome...!
@helenmichelled It was lovely. Especially fter the bad start to the day. It got sunny in the afternoon even though it was very cold, but this little burst at the end really made it worth. One of the reasons I love doing outside broadcasts is because of stuff like this!
@stevecameras definitely! I often drive through Richmond park at this time and tonight the London skyline was in brilliant sunshine with grey clouds in the park.
@stevecameras it is and I know where to go but usually have car full of children.....hoping for good skys on Thursday when I should have a moment! I was instructing a passenger but the drive by photos were rubbish!
This image makes me so jealous. Working outside... that must be awesome! The four walls routine is quite tiring. This is such a beautiful scene, Steve. very well captured. Loved the dramatic sky
Wel jel! I thought at first you'd nipped over to Australia and had caught a bush fire somewhere, the colours are so amazing! Just want to thank you for all your visits to my Dubai photos and favs, I admire your talent and your photography!
@jackie8 You're welcome Jackie, your shots of Dubai were really really good...not just tall concrete buildings but actual people :) Great stuff. And thank you for your compliments! :)
