So yesterday was quite a good day. I managed to clear the garden of some grass cuttings that had been there for months, as well as some that had been freshly cut from the day before.
I managed a haircut before another week away, and I even manged to pack my bag for the trip before 9pm. I usually start around 10pm and end up getting very little sleep before getting up early for the flight.
Despite al this, I didn't take my camera out with me and kept putting off taking a photo for the day.
I often think about doing this just because I feel like I have lost my mojo, but I also think that there is something to be said for recording yourself periodically. If like me, you are using this 365 as a journal and not just glitzy photos to try and impress people, then it is just as important to journal yourself, on top of which I think there is a certain skill to getting a great shot of yourself without any help from anyone. Don't knock it, in 30 years when the hair is a little greyer, and the wrinkles start to set in, you'll look back on this image with fondness!!
Ooooh look at you making all the ladies swoon Steve! Well inspired by this and @vokesy 's comments I am thinking maybe, given I've never done one, it's time I attempted a selfie! I am always complaining when putting anything together that there are zero photos of myself and perhaps I need to give up on hoping my husband might pick up the camera and just do it myself :)
I think Alison @aliha is right. If you're the one who wields the camera you have to turn it on yourself from time to time. You've done that very well in this shot!
Those are some blue eyes... Great portrait, especially appreciate your natural expression. I never seem to be able to stay that natural while in front of the camera.
@vokesy Andrew...so sorry for taking so long to reply...but thank s for the message. I really relate to the journal aspect rather than the glitzy photos part...I feel like I haven't taken anything worth looking at in weeks...but at least I can look back and see what I was up to... :)
@aliha Alison...I genuinely think it's healthy fun, interesting to turn the camera on yourself. Ego is the last thing even if I want it to look OK. I will look back one day and think "..at least I had hair....!" :)
And thank you for your compliment :)
@stevecameras Steve I can't lie, I'm feeling exactly the same way, I feel like this is the hardest month I've had since I started! The stats and comments kinda back my theory up too! Still, it can't all be plain sailing!
And thank you for your compliment :)
