This is a shot from my first day, and evening in Doha recently and the view from my room on the 16th floor of the Hilton hotel.
I didn't have this room at first but a work friend said she didn't like a room that had too much space. I suggested we swap and she said yes so before we'd unpacked our bags, we switched and I was extremely happy with it. The view was amazing, and although not THAT high, I loved that it was quite close to other buildings nearby. It almost helped to keep a sense of community even though the higher you go, the further you actually are from 'most' people. I know that probably all sounds like a load of rubbish, just a feeling that I can't quite put into words whenever I have been high up in buildings. It gave me an answer to a question I have always had, which is 'I wonder what it is actually like to live that high...?'
1 - Good to be back in Doha again
2 - A very lovely lunch to celebrate our friend Tom's birthday at the W Hotel
3 - A fun room party before evening drinks with coffee and cake in my room with friends
