Last month I made another visit to nearby Herringfleet and the disused mill to grab a few shots as the sun came up.
It was the only time I have been there at sunrise and also with a lovely blanket of fog. It's definitely worth getting up early for this kind of shot. I'm still not really happy with my edit...really feel like a workshop, and some CameraRaw/Photoshop tuition would be good but it's not bad.
I always end up over doing the contrast and opening up the shadows when really we don't see it like that. But as to what to do exactly in post-production I am not sure.
(How do the pro's know all this stuff....?
Any thoughts?)
3 good things:
1 - Great to see the sun rise at the mill, followed by bacon sandwiches and coffee for breakfast with Ali
2 - A good quick run on the seafront before seeing the osteopath
3 - FaceTime with Alexis in the evening
I usually try edit shots like this back to how I remember it.
