I can never get the settings right when I'm trying to get shots in the snow. We don't get enough here to practice on and the brightness of the snow always make my subject too dark.
If anyone want's to give advice, please feel free.
Well, one thing that I’ve found helps a bit is too make sure to use the spot, on the darker subject, rather than metered or centre exposure reading. Usually I do end up going into post and lightening shadows or darkening highlights.
It's a great capture with plenty of detail. I always set the exposure correction for -0.3 stop so that I avoid unnecessary over exposure. So you could try that for snow which is a tricky subject to get right.
