We were pleasantly driving along past the old neighborhood in the suburbs. there is a small,
"community" campground with all modern amenities located just down the road... It's more like a parking lot with parking spaces for your RV, but some folk like to stay close to home around national holidays and call it camping. There is an old man who was on his property chopping wood for campfires. He has lived there for many years. He had a wood-chopper to split the hardwoods. He had placed this wheelbarrow next to the two-lane road with campfire wood for the campers. He would bundle it up with twine and offer it up for sale.
You would place your money - in this case $ 3.00 dollars in an empty green coffee can left in the wheelbarrow. -- It was on the "honor" system. The gentleman was obviously "Old-schooled" and if you asked him what an "APP" was.... he would perhaps reply with a sense of puzzlement. There is always a story lurking just down the street. And when it comes to campfires, so many stories and folklore to be told. Summer is a great time to sit around the campfire in Michigan and tell stories, share a cup of coffee, and make s'mores --. ( a roasted marshmallow and Hershey Chocolate candy-bar treat)
"Welcome to our campfire, where friends and marshmallows get roasted together."
