Fact : The very first mechanical kitchen timer was invented in 1926 by Thomas Norman Hicks.
these timers were used when cooking or baking.
Also used by some Old-schooled parents for monitoring homework sessions. A little buzzer will go off when time was up. It sounds like an old rotary dial telephone ringer.
