Soggy Rose by stray_shooter

Soggy Rose

We're getting some sorely needed rain in California now. My roses don't seem to be as happy as they should be. Love the way the water beads up on them though.
The color of the rose petals and water drops looks so cool! I'm loving the rain!

Well. its not summer over there - you can't expect much of roses when daylight hours are minimised! Or are they?

Love the color, but Photoshop?

@cjphoto Thanks Chris, yes, it's great when we can add a little rainy variety in these parts.

@maggiemae Thanks Maggemae. Or yeah, the daylight hours are somewhat short these days. Sun goes down before 5:00 p.m. I had to scramble to get this!

@tigerdreamer Thanks Karen. The color is natural, but I boosted some of the characteristics in Lightroom and Topaz.

I, too wondered about the color...maybe an "Am I Blue" moment? It has a lovely, dark mood, which was great today for staying in, focused and getting some things done. Well, until my cousin called and we were talking old times and old photos and I went off the rails looking for pictures in long-ago albums! BUT...I have so been looking forward to time to do just that sort of thing! What fun! (So, when are you going to Oz?!)

@stray_shooter fabulous rose. I've never seen one that color.

Lovely shot and the rain droplets look super. Plenty of rain here for the last few days too and it is supposed to be summer here.

What a beautiful wet rose capture :)

Superb detail, colour and presentation Ron, love the light sparkling in the rain drops:)

The colours are amazing, so vibrant!

Love the colors. Yep, everything is pretty soggy around here today.... Sprinkling again right now. More downpour expected.

Красивый цвет розы и жемчужные капельки

This really deserves the popular page. What's up with that? Fav!

@cjphoto Thank you kindly, Chris. Yep, the rain provides all kinds of good things, photos included!

@Weezilou Thanks Louise! I'm off to Australia mid-May. The plan is to stay for a couple of weeks - lots of things to do, places to go, and photos to take! Hope to catch a few of our fellow 365ers while there.

@onewing Thanks Babs. We got a bit of a break today, but the next series of showers comes in again tomorrow. We welcome the rain though - at least for a while. Soon we may be able to start watering the lawn and washing the car again!

@gilbertwood Thanks Denise - maybe I should have gone with your wording. Wet rose rolls off the tongue a little better than soggy I think. Soggy, though, is how we're all feeling at this point.

@pcoulson Much appreciated Peter. Yeah, I'm a sucker for droplets too - always fun to see what's reflected in them. This was one of those where I was walking up the walkway to the door and went, "whoa, gotta get a shot of that!"

@salza Thanks Sally. Got to admit that I did boost the colors a bit, but they are pretty flowers in their own right. Not quite an ETSOOI, though!

@aglennc The little break today was nice, but more is coming it appears. Hope you dried out a little, Anita.

@joysfocus As we have said, who knows what causes certain photos to make PP? I'm not sure my beer glass shot deserved it, but there it was. Go figure. Thanks for the fav, Joy. :-)

@simta
Благодарю вас, Татьяна. Нам повезло иметь возможность иметь розы, которые цветут в течение всего года здесь - даже в дождь!

@stray_shooter The sun feels good today, even thought the weather is brisk!
