A gorgeous day today offered an opportunity to get out and knock the little white ball around. While waiting for the group in front of us I decided to whip out the cell phone and catch a panorama of one of the scenic ball magnets.
Golf on a January afternoon in Southern California... THIS is why the snow birds pay the big bucks to come here in the winter! Beautiful image Rom, and I just know you had a great afternoon!
Great reflection - always a winner in my book.. this one is especially nice with it's deep blue colour.. an altogether very nice pano.. hope you had a good round before retiring to the 19th..
Wow lovely panorama, course and weather you really are a lucky man Ron it really is the Golden State, what a beautiful water hazard, hope you had an enjoyable round:)
@taffy You are correct of the difficulty factor, Taffy. Notice how all of the fairways slope toward the water so that even a ball hit safely away from the water might still roll in. Very challenging.
@Weezilou Thanks Louise - they pay even more to go to Palm Springs and Phoenix. It sure is nice to be able to bust out the clubs and play a few rounds in January for sure! And I did have a good round, thank you very much! Also, it was free, as this club awards you a free round on (or near) your birthday. Can't beat that!
@maggiemae Thanks Maggie. Oddly enough, the water color and clarity didn't have quite that appearance in person - but I knew from experience that the view as seen through the lens would be much different. Thanks for stopping by to comment. :-)
@jorlam Thanks - see my response to Maggiemae above - the water looked much different in the photo than it did to the human eye. Funny how often that happens. And you seem to know me well - I did have a good round and I did spend a bit of time at the 19th!
@pcoulson Thanks so much Peter. Yes, living in the golden state does have its advantages sometimes. Interestingly (I'm full of useless trivia, so here comes another), we are called the Golden State primarily because the vegetation turns sort of goldish-brown during summer from a lack of water and an overabundance of sun. I've been known to refer to it as the Brown State instead.
@tigerdreamer Hey, somebody has to do this! Might as well be me. ;-) I'm making up for 38 years living on the road, having no life to speak of during those times. Really! Thanks for stopping by to comment. ;-)
@naomi Thanks Naomi! I don't often do panorama shots, but I was reduced to using the cell phone and a single shot just didn't do it justice. Thanks very much for your kind comments.
rom? as in romeo? :-D gorgeous day, indeed and what a super capture. beautiful colours and tones and it would be nice to have a picnic, except you might get hit by the little white ball. double aces, rom i mean ron.
